HOME CARE

The Kashechewan Health Services (KHS) provides a wide range of health services that serve the people of the Kashechewan. We provide and promote community wellness, healing, and health services and programs incorporating mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being while maintaining and respecting traditional/cultural values.

Home and Community Care

The Home and Community Care are responsible for assisting clients and their support systems in maintaining the highest possible level of independence and functioning in the least restrictive environment within the community setting.

 

The Home and Community Care Program conducts comprehensive clinical assessments, assists in the development of service plans, works with their staff and Nursing services, monitors services provided, reassesses clients routinely, and discharge plans. The Home and Community Care Program is responsible for implementing the above responsibilities in a cost-effective and integrated manner.

Personal Support Worker 

The Personal Support Worker assumes responsibility for providing routine care, support, and assistance to clients in the residence and their families. The PSW will also help to maintain a home-like environment by contributing to the daily operation of the Home following the Policies and Procedures of the KHS. Ensures that the client's surroundings and personal effects are clean, tidy, and serviceable and assist the client with activities of daily living.

Homemakers

The caregiver/homemaker provides services to the Health Service clients involving personal care, transfer assistance, cleaning & other housekeeping functions, errands, and companionship, and performs homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms.
